Mô tả: Date of preparation: 31/12/2017 Period : 55th Unit 9 : AT HOME AND AWAY Lesson 1 – Section A - A HOLIDAY IN NHA TRANG ( A1) I.Objectives : By the end of this period, Ss will be able to talk about vacation activities and know how to use the simple past tense. 1.Language contents: * Grammar: - Simple past tense - Wh - question * Vocabulary: return, wonderful, an aquarium, a gift, was/ were, have/ had, … 2.Skill: Listening 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids: Color chalk, pictures and sub-board. 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, work book,review the old lesson, preview vocabularies III. Techniques: Matching, prediction, pairwork, groupwork, Chatting IV. Procedures : 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: 7A,B,D : 4/1/2018 2.Checking the old lesson: *Steps: Teacher’s & Students’ activities Contents Step 1.Warming up T & Ss ask and answer some questions. Step 2.Presentation T: ask some questions. (Do you like travelling? Where do you like going? How is it?) Ss: answer them. T: elicit the new words. Model them Ss: repeat in chorus, individual. T: write them on the BB. Ss: give meaning Copy down T: ask ss to match the verbs in the present with the verbs in the past. T: ask ss to guess the verbs to fill in the right order. T: let ss listen to the tape and practise in pairs. Ss: work in pairs and check the verbs. T: match the words in the column A with the words in the column B. T: give feedback and correct if necessary. T: Introduce new grammar ‘ simple past tense’ with “ To be” and “ verb” .Then take some examples. Ss: Look listen and copy down. Step 3.Practice T: run through the cues Model the first cue. Ss: listen and repeat in chorus and in pairs. Do the rest. T: Guide ss to number the sentences. Ss: Can do in pairs or in group and then present before class. T: Control and correct mistakes. 4.Consolidation(1’) - Remark all period, especially “the simple past * Chatting: (5’)1.
