Period 43 Unit 8: PLACE Lesson 5 – SectionB- AT THE POST OFFICE ( B2-B3 ) I.Objectives At the end of this period, ss will be able to talk about the prices as well as revise some structures and read a dialogue to understand the details and get further practice in” need/ would like” and post office vocabulary. 1.Language contents *Grammar: - Polite request -Ask and answer about the prices * Vocabulary: local stamp, oversea, regularly, phone card, writing pad 2.Skills: speaking, reading 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids: Color chalk, pictures and sub-board. 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook,review the old lesson, preview vocabularies III.Techniques:Ask and answer, pair work,chatting IV. Procedures : 1.Organization:(1’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: 7B4 : .................... 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes *Steps: Teacher & ss’ activities Contents Step 1.Warming up - Have ss to make dialogue to base on B1.( free ) Ss make a dialogue in a post office to ask and answer about the prices Step 2.Pre-reading - Hang the poster on the board - Ask some questions. Ss: answer them. T: elicit the new words. Model them Ss: repeat in chorus, individual. T: write them on the BB. Ss: give meaning Copy down T: ask ss to repeat the words loudly in chorus Rub out word by word but leave the circles. Go on until all the circles are empty Ask ss to go to the board and write the words in their correct circles. T: ask ss to guess three things Hoa wants from the post office. T: give feedback. Step 3.While-reading T: ask ss to read the dialogue and check their prediction. T: ask ss to read the dialogue again and work in pairs to answer the questions of B2 on page 84. T: give feedback. Correct if necessary . Ss: work in pairs to ask and answer the questions.
