Period : 73 UNIT 12 : LET’S EAT ! Lesson 1: A. WHAT SHALL WE EAT ? (A1) I.Objectives - At the end of the lesson ss can be able to: - talk about foods they buy at the market. 1.Language contents - Grammar : Expressing preferences - Vocabulary: - stall ,selection ,pork, display, spinach, cucumber, papaya , pineapple, durian, green # ripe 2.Skill: Listening comprehension 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder III.Teaching aids - sub-board , pictures, some real things. 1.Teacher: English book, Lesson plan 2.Students: Book, work book IV.Techniques - Pyramid, Rub Out and Remember, Brainstorming, Mapped Dialogue. V.Procedures 1.Organization:(1’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? +Date of teaching: 7B1,2,4,5: ........................ 2.Checking the old lesson: *Steps: T’s Activities Ss’ Activities 1.Warm up : (5m) - Have Ss play a game : Kim’s game . ( Use the pictures or words written on the board of : fish , chicken , beef , milk , bananas, apples , carrots , oranges ) - Call the students to go to the board and write again . - Remark and lead in the new lesson . 2.New lesson: a) Presentation * Pre teach vocab: (7m) Ask Ss some questions such as : + Do you usually go to the market ? + Who do you often go to the market with ? + What do you often see / buy at the market ? - Introduce the situation of the lesson to Ss and ask Ss to guess what Hoa and her aunt bought at the market . - Have Ss look at the pictures and listen to the tape . - Ask Ss to look at the book and read after the tape . - Explain some new words and structures to Ss . + Spinach ( n ) : Rau chân vịt + Cucumber ( n ) : Dưa chuột + Papaya ( n ) : Đu đủ + Pineapple ( n ) : Quả dứa + Durian ( n ) : Quả sầu riêng + Ripe ( adj ) : chín + To smell ( v ) : ngửi thấy / có mùi • Have Ss play a game : What and where . * The dialogue (7m) - Ask Ss to read the dialogues in pairs . - Call on some pairs to practice reading in front of the class . - Correct their pronunciation . - Ask Ss to read the dialogues again to find out the answer in the book . - Have Ss play a game : Lucky numbers 1) What did Hoa and her aunt buy at the market ? 2) LN. 3) Does Hoa like pork? How about her aunt ? 4) LN. 5) What meat would they like for dinner ? 6) What are the favorite vegetables of Hoa’s aunt? 7) LN 8) What fruit did they buy ? 9) Why didn’t they buy a papaya ? 10) LN - Demonstrate the group which wins the game . - Ask Ss to write the answer in the notebook *.Presentation (5m) - Explain some sentences of Hoa and her aunt in the dialogues . - Model sentences : S1: I don’t like pork . S2: Neither do I / I don’t either . S1: I like spinach and cucumbers . S2: So do I / I do , too. ( So and too are used in the formative sentences . Neither and either are used in the negative ones) ( Not either = Neither ) b).Practice (10m ) - Give some pictures or given words to Ss to practice . + Carrots . X + Beef V + Papaya V + Cabbage X + Fish X + Chicken V - Have Ss work in pairs using the structures they have just learnt and given words . - Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class . - Remark . - Ask Ss to write in the notebooks . - Have Ss practice in pairs . - Call on some pairs to practice in front of the class . - Remark . c).Production -7m Have Ss take a survey . Make example : S1: I like durians . Do you like them ? S2: Yes , I like them , too / So do I . - Call on Ss to give the results . - Remark . 3. Consolidation- 2m Have Ss talk about the food they like and dislike . - Ask Ss to work in group of four making real conversations about shopping . - Call on some groups to practice in front of the class . - Remark and give marks . - Learn by heart new words by writing 3 lines for each . - Do exercise 1 at page 74 in workbook . - Prepare part 2 . - Greetings . - Play a game . - Go to the board and write . - Answer T’s questions . - Listen to the teacher and guess what they bought . - Look at the pictures and listen to the tape . - Read after the tape . - Listen and write . Read new words in chorus and individually , guess meanings and copy down . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids : - Lesson plan, text book, poster, picture. 1.Teacher: English book, Lesson plan 2.Students: book, workbook, review the old lesson, preview vocabularies III.Techniques: - Jumbled words, Example exchange, Brainstorm IV.Procedures 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: 7B1,2,4,5: ........................ 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes *Steps: Teacher and Ss’ activities Contents Step1.Warm Up T: present the jumble words on the board Ss: look at the words and rewrite them in the correct forms T: correct again Step2.Presentation T: elicit to show the structure by asking some questions Ss: listen and answer Ss: write the notes (how to show the position …) Step3. Practice T: guide Ss how to practice the exchanges Ss: practice in pairs T: Control and correct mistakes Step4.Further Practice T: First guide ss to write this part , take examples then have ss write themselves and present on the board. Ss: Practice writing in group and then present on the board. T: Control and correct their mistakes and present the writing (sub-board) 4.Consolidation (3’) - Remark all period especially “remember part” 5.Home Work - Get students to practice the structure more as possible and do the exercises. - Jumbled words: (5’) papaay – papaya, pinealepp – pineapple, durina – durian, cucumerb – cucumber, befe – beef, pokr – pork A2. Ask and answer questions with a partner. _ Write about the food you like.(6’) - Eliciting: (9’) Does Hoa like port? Which sentence tells you this? Hoa: Aunt: Or: I don’t either. Ex: I like (pine) apple. Do you like them? * Notes: - “Either/ Neither” are used in negative statements. - “So/ too” are used to in affirmative statements. (There is an inversion of the subject and the auxiliary in statements with So/ Neither.) • Practice the exchanges, using: (9’) “ too/ So/ either/ Neither” - Example exchange: S1: I like lemon juice. S2: I do, too/ So do I. S1: I don’t drink coffee. S2: I don’t either/ Neither do I. a. I drink a lot of milk. b. I don’t like durians. c. I like spinach and cucumbers. d. I don’t like peas. e. I don’t drink beer. A4. Write. What did you eat and drink yesterday? (8’) _ For breakfast, I Ate some bread and some milk / eggs / some noodles…. _ For lunch, I ate some rice , some chicken, some fish and some soup . Period 75 UNIT 12 : LET’S EAT ! Lesson 3: B. OUR FOOD (B1) I.Objective - By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to master the content of the dialogue. 1.Language contents - Vocabulary: - Grammar: Simple past tense. 2.Skills: Listening 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids : - Pictures, chart, real things. 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook, review the old lesson, preview vocabularies III.Techniques: - Bingo, Rub Out and Remember, T / F Prediction, Survey IV.Procedures 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: + What the date? + How are you today? +Date of teaching: 7B1,2,4,5........................ 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes *Steps: Teacher and Ss’ activities Contents Step1.Warm up T: stick the cards and reads Ss: Try to make T: correct again Step2.
