Mô tả: Date of preparation : 21/9/2017 Period: 17th UNIT 3. AT HOME Lesson 5: Section B – Hoa’s family (5) (35) I. Objectives : By the end of this period, ss will be able to describe the apartments. 1.Language contents: * Grammar: - Simple present tense. - Wh-questions, - Comparisons: comparative, superlative. * Vocabulary: empty, furniture, suitable, apartment. 2.Skills: Speaking, writing 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids: Flipcharts, sub-board. III. Techniques: Question - answer, pair work, group work, Chatting. 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook IV. Procedures : 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: Class 7D,A: 2/ 10/ 2017 7B : 3/ 10/ 2017 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes Teacher & ss’ activities Contents Step 1.Warming up T : use some realia to say . Ss: listen to her. Step 2.Presentation T: Set situation T: elicit new words. Model them. Ss: listen and repeat in chorus and in groups. T: write them on the BB. Ss: Give meaning. Copy down T: Give some guiding questions ( sub-board )and read the dialogue aloud. _Have ss read the dialogue in pairs first then answer the guiding questions in oral. Ss: Listen and do as requested. T: Review and give the new structures on the board. _Then take some examples. Ss: Listen carefully and copy down. Step 3.Practice T: Ask ss to read in silent the dialogue again and answer the questions in group and in pairs. - After doing have ss hang on the board and correct. Ss: Listen and try to do. - Look and correct mistakes. D. Further practice T: run through the cues. Model the first cue. SS: listen and repeat in chorus, individual. Do the rest. T: ask ss to write the sentences. Ss: demonstrate their task in front of the class after they have finished. 4. Consolidation(2’) T: Remark on the board some structure aloud before class. Ss: Listen carefully. * Chatting(5’) The ruler is longer than that one. They are taller than us. * Setting the scene:(3’) John Robinson is an English teacher from the USA. The apartment at number 79 is the best, It’s the most expensive. * Note: -Comparatives: … adj-ER than … … MORE + adj +than … - Superlatives: … THE +adj- EST … … THE MOST + long adj. … Ex: This ruler is longer than that one. He is the best student in our class. c, Answer: a) The one at number 27. b) The one at number 79. c) The one at number 79. d) The one at number 27. The most suitable one is the smallest but it’s the newest of the three apartments. It has two bedrooms, a modern bathroom and a kitchen. 1. Picture drill: (Language focus 1:5 on page 39,40)(4’) Example exchange: .A is a cheap toy-> B is cheaper.->C is the cheapest. 2. Long adj: more + adj + than + Superlative: short adj: the + adj-est. Long adj: the most + adj. 5. Homework:(2’) T: - Practise at home . - Write 5 sentences using comparatives and superlatives.
