A BAD TOOTHACHE ( B1 + B2 ) I.Objectives: By the end of this period, ss will be able to make a question “ why” and give the answer with “ because” and master the content of the dialogue 1.Language contents: * Grammar : - Structure: Why …? Because … * Vocabulary: appointment, drill, fill, cavity, hurt, hate… 2.Skills: Listening, speaking 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids : real thing, poster, picture, sub-board 1.Teacher: English book. Lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook,review the old lesson, preview vocabularies III.Techniques: - Jumbled words. Rub Out and Remember, T / F Prediction, Asking and Answering. IV. Procedures : 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? +Date of teaching: 7A,7B: 24/1/2018 7D:26/ 1/ 2018 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes *Steps: Teacher and Ss’ activities Contents Step 1.Warm up - T presents the jumbled words - Ss rewrite the words in the correct form - correction and repetition Step 2.Pre. reading - Introduce the topic by asking some questions ? What do you do if you have a toothache? ? What does the dentist help you? T: Set situation - use pictures then give out some new words and practice them. Ss: Listen and practice - choral & individual repetition T: clean & ask ss to read individual - correction and repetition Step 3.While reading - Read the dialogue B 1 - P.103(8’) T: Guide ss to do first and poster Ss: guess T/ F Ss: First read in pairs then answer and compare with partner , write on the board. T: Control and guide ss to do Step 4.Post reading (7’) - Correct the answer (Answer Key): T: correct again by using sub-board Ss: Look and correct mistakes 4.Consolidation:(2’) _ Remark all period and ask ss some questions. Ss: Listen and try to answer 1. Do you go to the dentist? 2. why do you go there? 3. What did the dentist do ? 4. Were you scared? 5.Home work1’ _ Ask ss to learn new words, do homework at home. - Jumbled words: (5’) toothae – toothache, haet – hate, dentsit – dentist, flee – feel, wrryo – worry, … B1. Listen. Then practice with a partner: 1.
