I.Objectives: By the end of this period, ss will be able to understand and use compliments or complaints with “What a/ an + adj + n!” 1.Language contents: * Vocabulary: amazing, delicious, bright, interesting, convenient, comfortable… * Grammar: “What a/ an + adj + n ! “ 2.Skills: Writing, speaking 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II. Teaching aids: Flipcharts, sub-board. 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook III.Techniques : Jumbled words, write- it- up, pair work , group works. IV.Procedures : 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: Class 7A,D: 25/ 9/ 2017 7B:26/ 9/ 2017 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes Teacher & ss’ activities Contents: Step 1.Warming up * Jumbled words. Step 2. Presentation T: ask some questions. Ss: listen and answer them -What is this? -> a house. -How is it ? -> beautiful. - Are you amazing? T: elicits new words. Model them. Ss: listen and repeat in chorus and in groups. T: write them on the BB. Ss: Give meaning. Copy down. T: ask ss to read the dial. again Ask” what does Lan say when she sees a lovely living-room? “ Ss: answer . T: write the sentence on the BB. Ss: give a form of compliments. T: ask ss to read the text again to ask and answer the questions. Step 3. Practice T: run through the cues. Model the first cue. SS: listen and repeat in chorus, individual. Do the rest. Write exclamations:(4’) a, Structure and model sentences: What + an / a + adj + N ! -What a lovely living room! - What an amazing kitchen! Note: Compliments: WHAT A / AN + Adj + noun! Ex: What a nice dress! What an interesting cartoon! b, Comprehension questions(4’) a) …living- room, Hoa’s room, bathroom, kitchen. b) because it’s nice and bright. c) There is a sink, a tub and a shower. d)There is a washing machine, a dryer, a refrigerator, dish washer, electric stove… * About you: Students’ answers. 1. Phrase cue drill(4’) - a very amazing kitchen. - a very comfortable armchair. - a delicious dinner. -an interesting story. - a bright living room. * Example exchange: What an amazing kitchen! 2. Sentences cue drill:(3’) a) The table is long. b) The students are good. c) The school is very clean. d) These girls are nice. a, Model sentences:(3’) -What is this? -> It’s a dress. - How much is it? -> $ 100 -> Oh, what an expensive dress ! Note: Complaints: WHAT A / AN + Adj + noun ! Ex: What a wet day! * Word cue drill A 2a. 1.Noughts and crosses:(4’) A delicious dinner. A bad movie Awful restaurant. Good boy New shirt Bright room Bad girl Beautiful house Great party. 2. Using “ How” a) What a great party!-> How great the party is! b) what yellow leaves! c) What good students ! d) What an interesting book! * Write- it- up: A 2a,b on page 31. What a great party ! 5.Homework:2’ - Practice more at home. - Do exercises 2 on page 14 on the workbook & do exercise A 2b. - For the good students, write 5 sentences about compliments.
