NEIGHBORS ( B3- B4 + Remember ) I.Objectives : At the end of this period, ss will be able to to read for details to understand Hoa’s sewing work and practice Wh- qquestion with the past simple 1.Language contents: * Grammar: - Simple past tense * Vocabulary: sew, sewing machine, useful, decide, fit, hobby, . . . 2.Skills: reading 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids: Color chalk, pictures, chart and sub-board. 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook,review the old lesson, preview vocabularies III.Techniques: Ask & answer , pair work, Chatting, matching IV. Procedures : 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: 7D: ……./1/2018 7A,7B: …./1/2018 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words, newstructures and do exercises T corrects the mistakes *Steps: Teacher & ss’ activities Contents Step 1.Warming up T: Give some verbs and answer some questions. Ss: listen and do as requested. Step 2.Pre- reading T: ask some questions . Ss: listen and answer them. T: elicit the new words. Model them Ss: repeat in chorus, individual. T: write them on the BB. Ss: give meaning Copy down Ex: My hobby is reading book. - Her hobby is watching TV Ex: I learn how to sew. He learns how to use computer. T: ask ss to have a guess the right order. Ss: guess and compare with their partner. Step 3.While- reading:(8’) T: ask ss to open the book, read and check the prediction. T: ask ss to read the text again to answer the questions. Ss: work in groups. Step 4.Post- reading T: ask ss to remind the rule of the regular and irregular verbs. Let them fill the verbs in the gaps. Ordering statements(3’) a. First, she made a cushion. b. Next, she made a shirt. c. Hoa bought some material. d. Hoa’s neighbor helped her. e. She tried it on f. It fitted well. g. It was too big. * Checking : c a b e g d f * Comprehension questions(6’) a. Hoa learned how to use a sewing machine. b. She made a cushion first. c. It was blue and white. d. She made a skirt next. e. It was green with white flowers on it. f. It looked very pretty. g. It’s too big. (She tried it on but it didn’t fit) h. Her neighbor helped her. i. Finally , it fitted very well. B4. Write. Put the verbs in brackets in the simple past tense. * Gap- filling:(8’) - Hoa watched her neighbors make her dress. - First, she bought some material. Then she cut the dress out. Next, She used a sewing machine to sew her dress. Hoa decided that sewing was a useful hobby. She made a cushion and a dress. The cushion was fine but the dress wasn’t Then her neighbor helped her so finally it fitted her. * Remember Page ( 94 ) 5.Homework: - Practise more at home, learn the verbs carefully and do more exercises. - Prepare Language focus 3.
