BACK TO SCHOOL Lesson 4: Section B– Name and Addresses (4,5) I- Objectives: By the end of this period, Ss will be able to talk about distances with “How far” , and answer with “ kilometer(s) /meter(s), know and use the new structure skillfully 1. Language contents: * Vocabulary : far , distance , kilometer * Grammar : - “ How far…from…to…? - About…..meter/kilometer. 2.Skill: listening, reading 3.Attitude : It helps ss to have motivation , happiness to communicate with each other in English . Besides, the lesson can helps ss work harder II.Teaching aids : Book color chalk , and sub-board 1.Teacher: English book, lesson plan 2.Students: Book, workbook III. Techniques : Practice in pairs, “finding friend” IV. Procedures : 1.Organization:(2’) + Who’s absent today? - Absent students: Nobody + What the date? + How are you today? + Date of teaching: Class 7B: 29/ 8/ 2017 7D,A: 30/ 8/ 2017 2.Checking the old lesson: (3’) T asks SS to go to the board and write the new words T corrects the mistakes Teacher & ss’ activities Contents Step1. Warm up: T: Ask ss to play game by connect sentences .( use sub-board) Ss : try to connect. T: ask ss to practice in pairs again. Step2.Presentation - Test some information about Hoa by using the questions. Ss:get marks if the answer is right T:elicit the new words from the ss. Model them . Ss: listen and repeat in chorus, individual. Give meaning and copy down. - Ask Ss to predict the answers. Let ss listen the dialogue to check the prediction. Ss:listen and check. Ss: read the dial. in chorus, in groups. T: Control whole class - Introduce the new structure from warming up. Explain clearly and takes some examples. Ss: Listen and copy down. Step3.Practice T: run through the pictures. Model the first picture cue. Ss: listen and repeat in chorus ,in groups. Do the rest. T: mention a grammar point ,using with “ How far..?” Step 4. Further practice - Ask Ss to work in groups. Ss:ask and answer about the distance from their house to school in groups 4.Conclusion:(2’) T: Remark all period and note the way to use this structure Ss: Listen carefully. * Finding friend(5’) do you go to school everyday? -fine thanks. How often do you go to the movies? -15 old are you? - once a month are you? - by bike. • Setting the scene:(3’) -What is Hoa’s family name ? -What is her middle name ? - How far is it from her house to school? Let’s go on B 4,5. 1. Pre –teach(6’) - far (from) : (antonym) ≠ near How far …………….? - distance(explanation: the space between two things or two places) - kilometer = 1000 meters * Check Vo : W&W 2.Presentation a dialogue ( B4.
